Every fall, I look forward to the first hard freeze. The first freeze means I can go outside without covering myself in deet because most of the mosquitos were killed by the cold. Frost is a world-changing force.
When I lived in Oklahoma I knew that springtime meant hail and tornado season. It meant that, inevitably, the landscape would be changed by the forces of nature. Hail and tornadoes are world-changing forces.
Every season brings change. And like the first freeze or a deadly tornado, you are a world-changing force.
Like a boat in the water, you leave a wake behind you. You create waves. They may be waves of peace or waves of pain. But you do not leave the world unchanged.Like a boat in the water, you leave a wake behind you. You create waves. They may be waves of peace or waves of pain. But you do not leave the world unchanged.
Choose to be intentional about the kind of world you are creating. Go out of your way to be kind. Lift others up. Speak only truth, and speak truth only in love. Align your life with the Kingdom of God, so that the wake you leave behind you looks like the kingdom that is ahead of you.
Don’t leave it to chance. Choose! Make a difference! Live against the grain of a broken and selfish world, and leave a trail of generosity and love everywhere you go. Because whether or not you recognize it, you are a world-changing force. Be a force of goodness.
